Roughcast render for a small domestic extension in Berkshire.

Where appearance counts…

Successful installation of external wall insulation and a coloured render finish to this home IN Berkshire

Project Description

The client in Berkshire needed a small, domestic extension rendering to match the existing traditional roughcast render on other parts of the house. He also required some of the old existing render patching around a window. The client required a quick turn around and the job was completed within five days.

Initially the block work was prepared and filled using expamet mesh and sand and cement to prevent holes forming in the render. All corners and windows were then beaded with corner beads and stop beads were applied around the bottom of the wall. A scratch coat of sand and cement was then applied for the final roughcast render to adhere to. Once the scratch coat was dry, a mixture of sand, cement, granite chippings and water was applied by hand using a dashing technique.

The finished effect was a rough cast finish that could be painted to match the existing render on the property.
